Thrive Protein is a family-run company that produces all-natural health and fitness nutrition products, proudly made in Ontario, Canada.

Gillian House
My background stems from a life of competitive sport. I competed provincially in middle-distance running, cross-country, and track and field for a number of years, before becoming a certified trainer. There are many components to being a competitive athlete, and I can give an insider’s view to the dedication, mindset, and nature of training at a high level. My professional background was in sales, and I now operate the sales and customer care at Thrive Protein.
Joe Clark
Joe has had a passion for health and fitness throughout his life. Joe’s athletic disciplines began in middle-distance running and resistance training, and now his main focus is on squash. He is a certified personal trainer, a strength and conditioning coach, a PN1 nutrition coach, and has coached clients for a number of years. Joe is currently completing his dissertation project to earn his BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science. He directly applies his knowledge of human physiology and nutrition to our product designs at Thrive.
Grace
Grace is 3 years old, enjoys painting, running around, and helping fulfill orders!

Gillian House

About Gillian & Joe
Thrive Protein is owned and operated by myself, Gillian House, and my partner Joe Clark. We first met in the fitness industry through our employment at a local gym in our hometown of Collingwood, Ontario, and realized each other’s passion for health, fitness, wellness, and nutrition early on. We worked alongside each other for a number of years, and during that time started a family. We have two little girls—Grace, who is 3 years old, and Alice, who is just a few months old. We have always had an incredible working relationship, and our strengths complement each other’s weaknesses, which has allowed us to run all facets of our company with just the two of us. We live together in Collingwood, Ontario, where we also run Thrive.
Why we started Thrive Protein
We first decided to start Thrive Protein because we were frustrated with the lack of high quality fitness supplements in Canada, particularly in the plant based sector. I personally struggled to find a great tasting plant based protein powder that had the macronutrient profile I was searching for, without fillers, sugars, or preservatives. I knew I was not the only one who could not find the right product. Shortly after launching our plant based protein, we became aware of the demand for high quality, great tasting super greens in Canada, as many greens are very overpriced and do not taste good. From there, we expanded our product line to many different health and fitness supplements and are always developing new products and ideas. Since launching, we have built a customer base of likeminded people building their health and wellness pursuits. It is the support of our customers that has affirmed our vision of producing the highest quality, best tasting, all natural fitness supplements in Canada. We simply produce the products that we want to use, as we know there are many others like us, searching for clean, great tasting, optimally formulated, Canadian made supplements.
Our Process

Product idea

All of our products are ones we use personally. As athletes and health enthusiasts, we use a broad range of supplements, and this is what inspires our product line. Any supplements we use but don’t yet carry are planned for development over the next few years!

Development
~
Next, we send our formulation to our manufacturing partner, who produces a sample for us. We then go back and forth, tweaking and adjusting the formula until it is just right.

Production
~
Once we’re happy with the design, we enter production. This takes place in Woodstock and Windsor, Ontario. Joe designs the labeling, which is also printed in Ontario.
Once the batch is produced, a blind sample is sent for third-party testing to ensure there are no impurities, heavy metals, or other contaminants.

Selling
~
90% of our customers are online and purchase through our website, which we built and operate. However, we are also in a number of retail stores local to our hometown of Collingwood, Ontario. We are currently expanding into more stores across Ontario.

Fufillment
~
All orders are hand fulfilled by us from our property in Collingwood, Ontario. This allows us to provide the utmost care and make any customer service changes to orders upon request. Most companies outsource fulfillment, but we plan to keep it this way.
